EMF Testing

OEM’s and Mobile Operators have to maintain Electromagnetic field radiation within human immune levels and have to comply with the Government guidelines. IWS supports the telecom clients in conducting the EMF surveys and testing to confirm the radiation level within the prescribed limits. The EMF Survey is conducted before the site in on-aired and the test results are published on the NEP portal. Post the confirmation of the compliance, the sites are allowed to be on-air.

EMF services includes the stages as below

EMF Survey Calculation Method

EMF Survey activities are carried out according to government telecom standards which include:

  • Collecting the site physical parameters like antenna height, type, tilt, azimuth, photos, frequency and other RF data
  • The collected data is uploaded to the standard EMF calculation sheet.
  • The final EPR value within the limit of 40-45 is considered as to be passed.
  • Final data and photographs are uploaded in the NEP portal.

EMF Survey Broadband & Narrowband Testing

In case of failure of the EMF radiation limit in the calculation method, broadband, followed by Narrow band(if required) testing is executed:

  • Narda 3006 BB/NB testing tool is used for the Broadband/narrow band testing
  • The site is further optimized to reduce the radiation in the designated areas
  • Post optimization, the broadband radiation tests are taken around the sites in all locations and building which are in line of site with the RF antenna.
  • In case of failure in BB testing further power reduction is done in the network t reduce
  • The final EPR value within the limit of 40-45 is considered as to be passed.
  • Final data and photographs are uploaded in the NEP portal.
  • Same procedures shall be repeated for audit along with Telecom government authorities
